A big festival of women Karva Chauth is an important and big festival of ladies, especially in the northern part of India. They fast on this day for the welfare and long life of their husband, sans a single drop of water. The festivity starts days in advance. From shopping to trip to the parlour, Mehandi, buying bangles, and a lot more.
This year, before two days of Karva Chauth various stalls were put. From mehndi to bangles and matthis, WECA ensured that the stalls were open from 10 am to 11 pm at the W3 park.
Al the stalls faced an unprecedented rush. Pre-Karva Chauth day ladies enjoyed dosa, uttappam, aloo bonda, idlis and sweets from the van parked inside the condominium which was arranged by WECA.
13th October was the fasting day.
To divert minds from growling tummies and to enjoy the festival, a get-together was arranged at 11.30 am. Tambola and other games kept them busy till 1.30 pm. In the evening, they gathered at the W-1 park for evening pooja in their best attire, jewelry and makeup.
Decked as brides, they waited for the Moon that showed up at 8.30 pm, post which pooja was held and the fast was concluded.
