Karunaanjali…A Helping Hand

by Mythily Govindan

Karunaanjali is a philanthropist who cares for the destitute and poverty stricken and a person who has dedicated her service to the homeless. We too watch children at the signals, road sides and a feeling of empathy sprouts up but it is short lived and we comfortably retire from the thoughts when we get entangled in our daily routines .

To begin with Karunaanjali was a corporate trainer to impart communication skills and taught at in B. L. Munjal University  and North Cap University, Gurgaon.

Karunaanjali had been associated with the poor for more than 20 years and I am very proud to say that I live in the same community where she lives. Her organisation is named Karunaanjali Foundation  (www.karunaanjalifoundation.org)

She says that she was influenced  by Gurudwara (seva to all) which she was acquainted with right from childhood . She derived her inspiration from her paternal grand mother..a doctor, who had helped and treated many needy free of cost .. and maternal grand mother who had been very spiritual and had influenced her to this kind of service…

Karunaanjali goes to teach in all the following centres ,taking two centres a day having a strength of 250 totally.

  1. Bhati Mines, Delhi
  2. Baliawas Village, Gurugram
  3. Jawahar Colony, Delhi
  4. Kaushambi, Ghaziabad
  5. Mehrauli, Delhi
  6. Ullahwas Village

Her main focus is to help and support the needy, ailing, bedridden patients by providing them with medicines, ration and other basic needs. She gives the required value education to the underprivileged children and help the senior boys and girls by giving them training in the vocational courses. Stationary items ,toys, books, art and craft materials are also provided to the younger ones for learning purposes.

The fund she gets to fulfil such requirements is only from known friends and relatives who are aware of her services. She honestly says that her dream is to have a proper classroom with benches  and teachers for her children whom she teaches now in the path way or corridors.

During the lockdown period, she could trace more poor people who were totally hunger stricken and homeless as all the doors for earnings were closed for them then. She has rescued many with the help of Police and employees of Gurugram administration by providing them with food ,cooked in one common place.

She brought a cohort of underprivileged children to the Diwali mela at Princeton to let them enjoy the rides ordered for the occasion.
She is a fairy in the human form on this earth to carry out Gods’duty to uplift the underprivileged and make them responsible good humans at par with others.

Karunaanjali’s sincere requests to the corporate workers and personalities associated with the international organisations to help her by funding her organisation ,so that we can equip our country with a healthy, employed population who can look after themselves.
Hats off to Karunaanjali for her thought process , helping attitude and philanthropic nature.
