Om Namo Bhagwate Vasude-vaya!! Karthik is the eighth lunar month according to the Hindu calendar. It is considered to be the holiest month as it is very dear to Lord Sri Krishna. It is said -A person who offers a lamp in the Temple of Lord Vishnu during the month of Karthik attains eternal wealth, good children, fame and glory.
Mr Atul Nigam and Deepotsava team decided to have a Karthik Deepotsava event in our own Hamlet with ISKCON on Saturday 5th November 2022 in the clubhouse, purely for the benefit of the residents and for the pleasure of Sri Sri Radha Damodar.
The team was focused on its cause. ISKCON Noida and Expressway team had come to do kirtan. A beautiful altar was decorated having deities of Lord Sri Radha Krishna, Laddoo Gopala, Lord Jagannath and Gaur Nitai adorned with marigold flowers.
Beautiful rangolis along with diyas were made by the ladies and the kids. Elders, toddlers, kids, ladies and senior citizens all danced merrily during the melodious kirtan sung by the ISKCON team. The whole atmosphere was charged and full of divinity with the chantings of Sri Hari.
Various kids recited Slokas from Bhagavad Gita with their meanings. In the end, Chappan Bhog was offered to the Lord which was followed by deep daan and Prasadam.
It was indeed a very pleasant event touching the hearts of people with divine thoughts. I would like to conclude with the saying -‘ It is said that one who remains absorbed in thoughts of Krishna is in the highest meditative state!!’ We look forward to having many more such events in the future.
