Julie – The Silent Warrior

This is the story of Julie, a community dog, from our Overseas Apartments. She became a part of the society family just being around the gate with her friends.  It’s strange we residents didn’t realize that we had owned her.

One unfortunate morning, at 5am, a car ran over her as she slept by the road. She laid there injured at the road side till afternoon until she was seen by one amongst us, who called out for help via Whatsapp group. She had multiple fractures and was severely injured.

Today when we are losing faith in humanity, a group of savers from Overseas pledged to save her with all their might. Surgeries happened,  X-rays examined and medicines were administered and we all contributed towards her hospitalisation and care centre to save her life.

Julie got a metal rod and plate in her surgery with 30 stitches and we prayed. Prayers have powers!

WhatsApp group is the most active group in our society these days, as all are eagerly wait for Julie’s updates. She barked… we smiled. She wagged her tail… we jumped at our homes; she cried with pain… we cried here; she got sick with tick fever at 102… we were worried sick for her. Financial contributions were done by the compassionate few residents and by unknown people who didn’t even know her that well.

A super-specialty pet care hospital, in South Delhi, has been excellent with their services and a pet-care centre is taking care post-surgery with sincerity. Today, she stands on her feet wagging her tail as Pooja ji and Sagar ji call out to her and they share her wellness with all of us.

Saviours from Overseas Apartments with Sagar ji and Pooja ji are – Nidhi, Manisha, Alaknanda, Bhoopendra, Suman, Sugandh, Brijraj, Ajay, Aman, Raveen, Arunabha, Baalajee, Kamlesh, Reema, Sarita, Sachin, Ankur, Anand, Anamika, Nita, Aparna  C, Ankita S, Amit, Siddharth, Neha, Kabir, Vinod, Sujit, Somali, Shashi, Vinisha, Pramod, Neetu, Kamlesh, Deepika, Sparsh and Neeta.

Love and long live Julie!!
