The first festival of the year, Lohri was celebrated in the societies and the colonies with dhols-rewri-moongphalis around the bonfire. At the Grand Omaxe the joy and enthusiasm, on 13 January, started in the early evening when the stalls put up for the occasion displayed their items. The rhythmic music, in the warmth of the bonfire, made everyone present at least tap their feet if not dance. The newly-weds and new parents had special celebrations.
