Help The Needy
This Diwali a group of public spirited old and young got together to celebrate Diwali in a novel way.
This Special Help Group of the colony collected from many households “not required or excess” clothes and came to the conclusion that helping the less fortunate during this Diwali by donating these clothes could be the best start. One month before the Diwali festival, they collected all kinds of summer and winter clothes for children and adults and also from their friends and relatives and donated the same to NGOs as well as to the maids, chowkidars, safai karamcharis, car cleaners, construction workers, electricians, drivers and painters and many more.
Tie up was also made with a NGO where clothes and household items were distributed to the needy children and adults in the hospitals, women and children living near railway tracks, under flyovers, daily wagers at construction sites, under- privileged children in orphanages and to some of our city’s most in-need populations.
This noble gesture of the public spirited was a boon for the poverty stricken, deprived people to stay happy during this winter season.
Let us all show our generosity, and collect clothes and other household items for the needy and also donate blankets, jackets, sweaters and other such clothing so as to keep the deprived ones warm and comfortable during this winter.
