The NGO ‘Guided Fortune Samiti’, in collaboration with Noida Authority officials, has been working hard on various initiatives to ban plastic from Noida, one of them being anti-single-use-plastic campaign.
The Guided Fortune Samiti team visits the weekly vegetable and fruit markets in different sectors of Noida and explains and advises shopkeepers not to use polybags. After several such verbal warnings, if the shopkeepers are found using them, all polybags are confiscated from them, and they are penalized with challans.
The drive also counsels and advises those buyers who are seen using polybags. They are urged to carry their own cloth or jute bags to purchase their veggies and fruits. The NGO has also introduced the ‘Thaila bank’ so that people could be supported to change their habits and dependence on polybags. The bags provided in the ‘Thaila Bank’ are made from recycled waste material and distributed free of cost to the people.
The Guided Fortune Samiti and the officers of the Health Department of Noida Authority urge one and all to join them in this campaign to make Noida totally free of single-use-plastic. Everyone’s contribution in this social cause will be of immense help! Please get the younger ones to be our crusaders!
