Spring time is the happy time of the year. This is the time when the mustard fields are yellow, summers start to set in and the weather is very pleasant.
Vividha always celebrates spring festival Basant panchami in grand style. After a brief and interesting introduction on why we celebrate Basant panchami, we performed Saraswati Vandana which was beautifully sung by Shashi agrawal. There were beautiful dances by Anita Kapoor and Nisha.
Like past years, this time also we planned something unique and creative for our members. Members not only made jewellery out of vegetables, they wore the jewellery and modelled too. We had invited very creative and artistically inclined friend Davinder Kaur (D 9) to judge the masterpieces. She said she had a tough time judging the unique pieces. The judging was done on the basis of innovation, colour co ordination, neatness, use of maximum vegetables and pieces of jewellery for different body parts. While Madhu bagged the first prize for being the undisputed queen, Kavita Kashyap was also very innovative and got second prize. Third price was shared by Radhika and Shashi. All the participants showed great enthusiasm and were given participation gifts as recognition of their wonderful efforts. It won’t be an exaggeration to say that ladies went crazy when the show was being judged.
Since in 2024, Basant panchami and Valentine’s Day fall on the same day, Shashi also presented an energetic valentine theme dance.
We celebrated birthdays and presented beautiful gifts to the birthday girls.
The representatives of an NGO associated with cleanliness drive also came to share the good news of Noida getting first position in UP in swachchhata sarvekshan. Ladies got enlightened with their talk and also enjoyed the gifts after a short quiz.
Hot samosa, bread pakora, laddoo, tea and juice served as icing on the cake.
We shall be going for picnic towards the end of month. Next month is Holi dhamaal for which the members are already very excited.
