Janmasthami Celebrations At Club 15-A

Janmashtami, also known as Krishna Janmashtami or Gokulashtami, is a significant Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna, who is considered the eighth avatar of Vishnu. This festival is observed with great devotion and enthusiasm at club 15A with dance and drama performances by our sector kids and this time with adults playing as well.

The decorations had a beautiful peacock theme decor. Floral jhoola outside the hall became an instagram friendly photo spot where the residents and kids were posing for memorable pictures. The jhaanki inside was tastefully done up depicting scenes from Krishna’s life, done by Radhika Gupta and Deepeka Jalan. The food spread was very apt for the celebration – Pav Bhaji, Papdi Bhalla chaat, mattra kulcha specially the most popular Mishti Doi served as prasad.

The performances were a delight to watch with mic handling done by Richa Gupta and Radhika Gupta. Starting with, Krishnamaya – A Kathak dance production celebrating the stories from Krishna’s childhood. The music composed by Pt Birju Maharaj Ji and choreographed by their Guru, Pallavi Kumar Sharma ji and performed by the youngest nrityanganas Meera Bhardwaj, Nerya and Naisha Pachauri, Tashi Gupta, Adya and Arya Mathur. Achyutam Keshavam was played on tabla by our young tabla player Viraj Panda trained by his guru – Hamumanth Dayal. Singing to his tunes was his dadi – Meera Panda and Nani – Jayanti Biswas. Adhya and Anaya Bhola, K Tanvika, Aayan Taneja, Kaina Lal, Jenisha and Pavika Mittal showed their talent on stage dancing on a beautiful Krishna song loved by all, choreographed by Rachna Gupta Ji. Harshita Gupta, Gunakshi Gupta, Anjini Sharma and Prisha Bhatia mesmerised us by their graceful movements on stage choreographed by Rachna Gupta Ji. Riyana, Ronnica and Ronnin Manocha along with Vanya Bansal, Rudransh and Arhansh Agarwal, Arohi and Mannat Garg set high energy with their dance moves, choreographed by Sage sir. Mere Krishna, directed by Megha Rajput Theatre Teacher was a play exploring the profound influence of female relationships in shaping lord Krishna’s understanding of love, friendship and devotion. Performed by Seema Gupta as Yashoda maa, Sandhya Gupta as Meera, Rekha Agarwal as Parvati, Ritu Gupta as Khubja, Vasudha Tiwari ji as Satyabhama, Vandana Shukla as Devaki, Garima Gupta as Rukmini, Deepeka Jalan as Krishna, Sudha Gupta as Shankar, Reena Shukla as Radha, Madhu Gupta as Naarad Muni, Ruchi Singhal as Draupadi and Swati Gaur as Lakshmi.

Grand finale was the much-awaited matki phod amongst all the excited little Krishnas and Radhas of the sector gathered here. Through this vibrant cultural celebration families came together in joyous celebration, reaffirming their faith in the eternal values of love, truth, and righteousness that Krishna represents.
