Janmashtami, also known as Krishnashtami is celebrated to mark the birth of Lord Krishna. It has immense cultural and religious significance in India and worldwide.
In Dlf 2 celebrations were held at Brahma Kumari Ashram, K Block. Children dressed up beautifully as Kanha and Radha and enjoyed the cake cutting ceremony for Kanha.
Bachpan Shala an NGO run by Nandita Chopra and Nishwarth Seva Foundation by Sapna Sehrawat celebrated the festival of Krishna Utsav with joy and happiness. Most of the children dressed up like Krishna and Radha. They could be seen wearing beautiful colourful dresses, bangles, crowns, peacock feather, Tulsi mala etc. Dancing and singing all the children were immersed in joy. The excitement included cutting a cake and Dahi Handi phodna.
Melodic evening made a heavenly experience of Krishna’s birth by Smt Veenu Kalra ji and the residents of DLF 2. Veenu ji and ladies sang songs, danced and chanted Krishna bhajans in Gauri Shankar Mandir until midnight, welcoming the birth of kanha ji. This made every devotee enjoy and welcome the divine energy that Krishna embodies.
