Once again this year Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated by the residents of RPII. The RWA team arranged the function and invited the residents to come and participate and enjoy the evening. All the rituals related to the festival were done under the guidance of some of the senior ladies.
People participated with enthusiasm and also offered to bring all the Prasad which included fruits, sweets, dry fruits, and more. Charnamrit which is made using 5 ingredients was prepared by one of the residents and was used to bathe the idol of baby Krishna. Then the idol was dressed in beautiful clothes and jewelry and the sthapna was done in the pandal.
Celebrating these events has its importance in introducing the children to our rituals and rich cultural heritage. Many children also came dressed as little Krishna and Radha. The children were excited to give jhoola to little Ladoo Gopal.
