Krishna Janmashtami, a Hindu festival was celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of lord Krishna , on September 6 and 7. throughout the country. On the occasion there was a great celebration conducted at AGV-1 , which was initiated by the ’Mandir Samiti’group . From early morning the devotees started visiting the mandir to perform puja and seek blessing for their family. Mandir was beautifully decorated and few la dies decorated the jhula and placed’Balgopal ‘ inside it . Devotees observed fast on the day. Small children were dressed up as Balagopal and looked lovely .
Program started early in the evening in front of mandir premises. At the beginning, a group of tabloid, which depicted the different characters of‘ Gopal kala ceremony’ had taken a round of entire society. Small children and kids with their parents assembled with great enthusiasm. Children performed group and solo dances with various popular devotional songs. Some children showcased their singing talent.
A tattoo stall was installed for the children and a big crowd was seen there. Ladies group performed a beautiful play, which was based on the awareness of hazards of using plastic
To celebrate the birthday of lord Krishna, a big cake was cut on the stage and distributed among the children. A big handi was hanged there to mark the celebration of ‘dahi – handi which was’ broken by the group – as is the custom. At the end of the program children were given prizes and certificate for their great performance.
Afterwards a ‘Bhagwat’ kirtan group performed some devotional songs which elderly people enjoyed a lot. At night by 12 a.m Janmashtami puja was completed and Prasad was distributed among all. All the residents appreciated and enjoyed the entire event thoroughly.
