Last year in May, when I went to Tikona Park GK2 for my evening walk, I was very lucky to learn of free yoga classes starting the very next morning. I jumped at the idea and there has been no looking back since then.
This class has brought such wonderful people into my life. These people had been living in the colony for so many years but we never knew each other. Like-minded souls, each one motivated to be there in the serenity of the park every morning, to feel the positivity brought into their lives by doing collective yoga in the lap of nature.
This yoga group has become like our second family. The day one doesn’t go, you feel something is missing. There are ‘specialists’ of kinds in the group- Suryanamaskar ustaad, Hasyasana master, and the Pranayama leader. We all share our joys and pains, and celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, festivals, and even goodies brought in from our outstation trips!! Those back from religious trips carry back prasaad and blessings for all. Growing head counts make us feel proud of our strength and absences are followed up with seriously.
We must thank the support given to us by the Tikona Park Lovers group, who have cooperated with us by getting the lawn mowed whenever requested. We started as a free class, then moved to be a paid class for a short time and now we are back to being a free class that welcomes anyone who has a love for doing yoga under the blue sky, on the green grass, and soaking in the morning freshness. Please do join in and remember to get your own yoga mat and a bottle of water. A lot of fun and great company awaits you!!
