ITKT celebrated a Diwali Milan on Saturday, 4 November, which made the community buzz with excitement.
Residents poured in their selfless efforts, making things happen seamlessly. In an age when events can be outsourced, this team effort brought forth the community essence.
This reflects the ‘blue zone’ concept where communities thrive through collaborative efforts and strong social connections.
The Diwali Milan was a remarkable blend of entertainment & tradition. The events began with an all – ages marathon. The 5 KMS Diwali Fitness Run by senior citizens was a testament that fitness knows no age.
Children put up a Nukkad Natak under the guidance of Naman Sonpar, a Class 10 student who runs his own NGO called Hari Koshish. The Natak delivered a message on saving the environment.
What is a Diwali celebration without seniors’ blessings? There was a special gathering of our senior citizens who wrote graffiti, posed at a selfie point, laughed, played and sang together.
Kids showered petals on the seniors and applied chandan tikka.
The children’s talent extravaganza showcased their singing, dancing, and other artistic performances. Thank you to Ashok Dua(KT5) for the thoughtful gifts for the kids participating in the talent hunt.
Stalls by our home entrepreneurs exhibited craftsmanship with handcrafted products – jewellery, candles, chocolates, textiles and bandhanwaars.
Food stalls ensured that taste buds were taken care of. Chaat, South Indian savouries, multi cuisines – everyone enjoyed the delights. The aroma wafted through the air, inviting everyone to indulge.
Kuremal Kulfi from Sita Ram Bazaar was a highlight!
At 6 PM, a Diwali Puja was conducted. Attendees sought blessings of Lord Ganesha, a newly – acquired idol purchased collectively. Prasad distribution took place with ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’ playing in the background.
A Diwali Dhamaal with live music and DJ brought everyone to the dance floor. People swayed to traditional and contemporary beats. 500+ families attended the Diwali Milan, making it a mega success!
Thanks to our main sponsors – GenX and Looks. Their contribution played a role in making the event a reality. They also sponsored a lucky draw wherein each resident who bought a ticket got an INR 500 coupon for Looks.
