Fire in SDF
On the night of June 10th, a short circuit in blocks 48 and 49 ABC caused all six electric meters to burn to ashes. The incident occurred around 10:45 PM. Anu Madan, a resident of 48B, noticed the fire and smoke billowing from the meters and immediately raised the alarm. Guard Chandan from Gate No. 2 rushed to the scene and began dousing the fire, assisted by Guard Jeevan and others. G4 security guards quickly responded as well. The fire brigade arrived shortly after, guided to the exact location by Anu Madan.
The incident was especially harrowing for Col. Mahavir Singh and Indu Singh, both senior residents. Their staircase was filled with smoke, preventing them from going downstairs or reaching the terrace. They sought refuge on their balcony to avoid inhaling the smoke. Meanwhile, Anu Madan managed to come down with her young daughter after some time. The experience left everyone deeply shaken.
The timely action of guard Chandan was praised by everyone.
