Sector 15A Noida

Is The RWA Facing A Cash Crunch That It Has to Ask for Donations from Residents?

Going Around with a begging bowl will Bring a Bad Name to the RWA, an Important Institution of 15A

The following is the message sent by the Secretary of the RWA: ”Sub: Donation, we are glad to inform that RWA has received Rs. One lakh as Donation from Ashok Sarin House no.378 towards Development of Rajnigandha Market.

“Donation received by RWA will be used only for Sector Development work of existing facility (Installation of tiles, painting, Drainage etc.) in Rajnigandha Market or any other suitable place and not for any other usage such as publicity, religious etc.”

“We urge all Residents to come and support our Sector to become the best in Delhi NCR”

When we checked with Ashok Sarin, he clarified that he donated Rs.1 lakh because RWA secretary Rajesh Khanna asked him for a donation!

Residents are wondering why the RWA has suddenly begun asking for donations. Have their big fixed deposits vanished? Has the Club stopped helping them? These and many other questions are plaguing the residents’ mind.

In the past, the RWA has never requested anybody for a donation. Whenever RWA needs funds, it has been approaching the General Body for an increase in subscription, and the General Body has always obliged. Keeping in mind that we are not a gated society, and most of the development and upkeep activities are looked after by Noida Authority, the RWA’s operations are limited to liaison with the Authority, looking after security, getting drains cleaned and general upkeep of the Sector. This is the brief which the RWA has, and it should maintain it and not go beyond it. The RWA Secretary going around asking for donations is impacting the image of the institution.

The RWA’s clarification that the donation received will be used for Rajnigandha market has few takers. The Sector Whatsapp groups are packed with aversions to that approach. They want the ‘concretisation’ work to stop immediately and the restoration of the greenery of the market brought back to the original immediately. As a matter of fact, some senior residents are thinking of conducting a silent protest and requesting every resident to put a potted plant at that spot as a peaceful sign of their protest.

The above article will not be taken in the right spirit by the RWA Secretary’s wife, who has been protesting that I am constantly writing against her husband. I wish to clarify that my articles are not targeted at any individual. Every point above is not just my view, but that of an important section of the Sector and we are all equally concerned about upholding the integrity and credibility of our institutions.
