We moved to Sushant Lok in 1999, which is about 24 years ago, at a time when this colony used to be really calm and quiet and used to truly live up to its name ‘Sushant’. Well, we have, since then, seen this colony only deteriorate in all senses. One can see dirt, filth, rubbish and waste everywhere, the traders of Vyapaar Kendra do not bother about cleanliness and hygiene and wash their dirty utensils out in the open and allow the mucky water to flow out. One can easily observe that the entire area has been invaded by taxi drivers and there is dust and chaos everywhere.
Of late we see that the main entry road to Vyapar Kendra has been dug up and has been lying open since the past almost a month with glaring potholes due to which commuters are being greatly inconvenienced. Nobody seems to be bothered about it and nothing has been done to re-lay this road. As it is, this road is crowded with all sorts of vehicles practically for 12 to 14 hours a day, has long traffic jams and the incessant honking makes it even worse. It is surprising that nobody has been able to regulate the traffic. As a solution, why can’t we have an entry from the mother dairy side and exit from the other side of the Kendra? It is simple and implementable, but nobody wants to accept this as a solution, they are letting the chaos go on and on and will wake up only when this problem attains unmanageable proportions.
The situation is gradually becoming worse. This colony needs people who show some concern, understand the problems of people at large and get down to finding solutions. Our dream to make Sushant Vyapar Kendra like Galleria and our entire colony neat and clean like many other neater areas around may take some time to get realised, but we can, nevertheless, begin and try to make things better…Can’t we…?
