Interview With Def Col MLA Madanlal – His Plans For 2024!!

The overall situation of civic issues like Water, Sewers, Roads etc are quite satisfactory

It has been more than 7-8 Years since Madanlal was elected MLA for the constituency which includes Def col. As there have been many developments, changes and new facilities during his tenure Samvada editor, Ajay Kumar interacted with him to discuss about his plans for 2024. The following are the details:

Ajay Kumar: What are the new developments in Def col under your leadership in the last few years?

Madan Lal: I am pleased to share that the civic issues are quite low in Def col due to our regular surveys and implementation of new facilities in the colony. The overall situation of civic issues like Water, Sewers, Roads etc are quite satisfactory as per the feedback received from the residents and RWA’s. My team has been doing regular visits to the colony to take pictures and also organize meetings with the residents and RWA’s to resolve the issues. The New Mohalla clinic is now a full-fledged diagnostic centre to serve more than 150-200 patients every day. Most of the medicines are now available free of cost to the patients who are residents, maids, servants, guards and drivers. The sewers are cleaned regularly to safeguard the residents from water-clogging during monsoon. The water pipelines are checked, maintained and changed regularly to provide uninterrupted drinking water for the residents. The water harvesting pits are now serviced to increase the ground water levels in the colony. We also ensure that the security of Def col is improved with regular interaction with the SHO, ACP and DCP.

Ajay Kumar: What are the challenges faced by your team to make Def col Livable?

Madan Lal: As Def col is open from all sides during the day, it has become quite a huge task to provide security to them at all times. Def col has more than 300-400 commercial establishments including eateries which add to the chocking of sewers especially around the main market, flyover market and Main roads. The residents feel shy to get their servants verification done even if we organize regular police camps at the RWA’s offices. Due to constraints of MLA budget (Approx. 4 Crores per annum only) we are always short of funds to create better roads, parks, more street lights etc in the colony.

Ajay Kumar: What are your plans for 2024 to make Def col secured?

Madan Lal:

1) We have created a dedicated customer care cell for the residents who may lodge their complaints at any time to get their issues resolved

2) We have installed more than 100 CCTV in the colony and requested the concerned authorities to provide more CCTV cameras and make them functional to keep the entire colony secured. We also request all the residents to install personal CCTV’s (inside, outside and in service lanes) to keep their lanes secured at all times.

3) The verification of servants through camps, online and also at the police station is our ongoing activity to keep a check on new persons in the colony; we also random check people in parks, markets etc to ensure maximum vigilance. Our police team also takes regular rounds of all the parks to check and shunt away criminals from the colony.

4) We also organize regular camps for election cards, Aadhar cards, linking of cards, Property tax camps etc to facilitate the residents to get these services in a more friendly and convenient environment. We ensure that senior citizens get regular care from the RWA, police patrolling team

Dear Mr. Madan Lal, I take this opportunity to extend greetings from our Samvada team as well as fellow residents for your continued support and time to make our colony the best in the coming years.
