WTSS organized International Yoga Day on Wednesday, 21 June at the Sports Field to commemorate the day as a community & to spread awareness on the benefits of practicing Yoga.
Many Yoga practitioners joined the event with enthusiasm to experience the ancient practice & to create a shift in their physical, mental & spiritual well-being. The event was guided with live demonstration session by our power Yoga practitioners Air Cmde Nrip Kumar Mehta, Babita, Vipula & Shagun Mohan.
The session included practicing many asanas, pranayama & prayers followed by Chandra Namaskar (Moon Salutation) by Shagun. Chandra Namaskar was a thrilling experience, which included a sequence of poses to calm the central nervous system & to prepare the body for rest.
We followed the two-hour power Yoga session from 7 AM with joy. Refreshments like bananas, packaged lassi & buttermilk were provided at the end of the session.
Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It manifests unity of mind & body, thought & action, harmony between human & nature, a holistic approach to good health & well-being. It also rejuvenates our body & keeps us calm.
The International Yoga Day event was an enriching experience for us. Let us keep spreading awareness on the benefits of practicing Yoga & give ourselves the gift of wellbeing.
Thanks to SP Gupta from Yoga Vigyaan & Manav Kalyan Trust for conducting free Yoga classes at Wishtown since last two years.
