Team Samvada gratefully acknowledges the contribution of men to the well-being of our society and plane Courage, strength, chivalry – these are just some of the virtues that define a man. In the various roles that a man plays – be that of a father, brother, son or a spouse – the one common denominator that brings out the essence of a man is the protective care that he provides to those around him. On this International Men`s Day, team Samvada salutes the spirit of manhood and reaches out to all the men without whom the very notion of life would be non-existent. We capture here the views of some of the men around us in GK-2 on what the International Men`s Day signifies to them.
Vijay Sood: While a woman may make a home, it is the man that helps to make her world and in the Modern World, men are prepared to accept a reversal of those Roles too.
Ujjwal Khanna: “Is there a day like that? “ This was my first reaction when I was asked to write a few lines. Yes, I had read about it on whatsApp groups but had passed it off as another marketing funda. Finally there is a day that acknowledges men.
Sunil Magon: The men’s day in the real sense should be women’s day where men should go all out to pamper their women and will be surprised to see how the women respond in abundant measure
Rohit Khanna: Men are the unsung heroes – who sacrifice everything for their families without a glitch and a miss. To the ones who are always there 24X7 – A happy Men’s Day to all the men!!
Sahaj Kohli: Celebrating International Men’s Day helps to spread the message that men and women are both equal and though we owe our existence to women, men also bring positive value to the world and families. They are also an essential element of this universe. However, they too should be allowed to exhibit their true feelings, overruling the myth that men don’t cry. Their importance should not be restricted to only being a provider. The world should be a harmonious blend of joy between men and women.
Vinod Khosla: All men are alike and all men are simple. Only very few women care how a man looks like, because there are many other important things to look into – especially his shortcomings and mistakes. On a serious note – men and women both need to be acknowledged for their contributions to society as a whole. Although dedicating a single day is not enough yet it helps in keeping the celebratory spirit alive. So like we celebrate Women’s day, daughter’s day, son’s day, mother’s day, and father’s day – we should be celebrating men’s day too. A western concept though – but it uplifts the mood for everyone.
