The Swarn Jayanti Rail Nagar (A-1, Sector-50, Noida) was built by the Indian Railway Welfare Organisation (IRWO). The houses to meet the needs of all sections of Railway men were constructed here and were handed over to the owners in the year 2020. The buildings are low rise with ground floor as stilt parking and four more floors. This is a very clean and green residential complex, situated next to Central Market.
As the buildings are low rise, lifts with manual operating doors were provided by the IRWO. The lifts have outlived their life of 20 years. The installation of new lifts will benefit the residents with increase in safety efficiency, comfort and appreciation in property value. Therefore, the idea to replace these lifts with Automatic Door Opening lifts was considered by the Swarn Jayanti Rail Nagar Flat Owners Association (SJRNFOA) in the year 2021.
A group of flat owners were requested to initiate the proposal for installation of automatic door opening lifts. The modalities of making specifications, identifying the reputed lift manufacturers, calling of tenders, evaluation of the tenders etc. were carried out. The work of awarding a contract to an agency was delayed due to COVID-19 pandemic conditions prevailing at that time. The contract was finally awarded to a subsidiary of a German firm in April 2022, after a lot of deliberations. The lift manufacturer took some more time to supply the materials.
By the Grace of God, the installation work of lifts began in October 2022. So far 9 lifts, out of a total of 10 lifts, have been commissioned and handed over to residents for their use in a time span of six months. The lift no.10, the last one, is also likely to be commissioned by mid of April 2023.
This has been made possible by the overwhelming support of residents and untiring efforts of our Shri RN Lal, Shri JN Lal and Shri Susheel Bhaskar.
