Like every year, RWA had organized an Independence Day function at Agrasen Park.
There was a tattoo artist available to paint flags etc. on whoever wanted and he was busy for almost 2 hours. There was a queue of both adults and children waiting to get a tattoo made from 9.30 onwards. It was much appreciated by all.
Flag hoisting was planned for 10 am. By then almost 50 residents had gathered including about 15 children of all age groups. All the children were encouraged to come forward and pull the string for hoisting the national flag along with the EC members. And they happily participated.
After flag hoisting and singing of national anthem, everyone moved to the other side of the park for musical programme that had been organised by us.
Programme started with a tribute to the motherland with the eternal favourite Vande Mataram, presented by children and adults trained by Ms. Anamika Singla. Apart from her the other participants were Avyukt, Monish, Nysa, Vraaj, Harshika, Inaya, Vineet, Ms. Seema and Mr. SP Singh. It set the tone for the day. This was followed by a presentation of Kar chale Ham Fida Jaane Tan Sathiyon by Mr. Raj Kumar and Ms. Neelima. Next was the rendition of Ai mere pyare Watan by Ms. Sudhanshu, Ms.Rekha and Ms.Sunita, followed by Sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab hamare dil mein hai by Mr. Raj Kumar and Ms.Neelima.
By now more than 100 residents had gathered and were enjoying the programme. Mr. RPS Chawla and Ms. Bhupinder presented Jahan daal daal par sone ki chidiya and some of the audience members joined in the singing and clapping which was beautiful. Ms. Anamika and her group presented a medley of two songs after this including Chak de India, which was enjoyed by all.
