The 78th Independence Day of our beloved country was celebrated with great enthusiasm and excitement at Saket Dham Apartments’ Frontal Lawns on 15th August 2024. Following last year’s tradition, the theme was Har Ghar Tiranga, and residents proudly displayed Tirangas on their balconies and atop all the society’s towers from 13th August, symbolizing their pride and love for the nation. This display not only reflected a personal connection to the Tiranga but also embodied a collective commitment to nation-building. The society premises and main gate were adorned with tricolor flags, with this year’s highlight being the exclusive use of eco-friendly materials as an effort to protect the environment.
A large number of residents gathered at the venue to celebrate this important national event. Patriotic songs played on the sound system set the tone for the celebrations. The event began at around 9:30 AM with the hoisting and unfurling of the national flag. The National Anthem, Jana Gana Mana, reverberated through the air as the tricolor fluttered proudly, showering flower petals and adding to the charged atmosphere. Tributes were paid to the Indian martyrs and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the country.
Following the flag ceremony, a lively lemon race was held, with enthusiastic participation from senior citizens, ladies, and children. Light snacks were served to all attendees as refreshments, and a drawing competition for the children of the society was conducted.
Due to the hot and humid weather, the cultural program was scheduled for the evening. The trees, pandal, and main gate were beautifully illuminated with tricolor LED lights, giving the society a festive look. Children and residents gave energetic performances, reciting patriotic poems, singing, and dancing, all of which were warmly applauded by the audience. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the children for their participation, encouraging them to continue such spirited involvement. The celebrations concluded with a sumptuous dinner, enjoyed by all.
