As per the old tradition, the Independence Day, 2023 was celebrated jointly at the DCA’s JCO club on 15th Aug ‘23. The EC of DCWA and DCA held few prefunction meetings to create a joint communication for the event for all the residents of Defence colony. They also planned all the activities related to the Independence Day function keeping in mind even minute details.
The JCO club was colourfully decorated in Tricolour theme to create a good ambience for the visitors which was highly appreciated by all. The entrance was very attractive and every visitor was given a Flag badge to pin it with pride and attend the function which started at 11:30 sharp as per the program.
The Tricolour was unfurled by the chief guest alongwith both the presidents of RWA’s followed by national anthem sung by all the residents to create Josh among all. There was a special cultural program by the children of Defence colony who were dressed colourfully like soldiers, freedom fighters. The children recited patriotic poems, Songs and dances to portray the theme of freedom and independence. The Chief Guest and other dignitaries addressed the audience about the freedom struggle and requested them to take care of this independence with pride and patriotism.
