77th Independence Day was celebrated at the Community Centre of the Sector August 15, 2023 with great zeal and fervour. Like last year, Har Ghar Tiranga was the theme and Tirangas were hoisted by the residents in their balconies and also at the top of all the towers of the society from 13 August as a celebration of pride and love for the nation. The Community Centre premises and the main gate were profusely decorated with tricolour flags and balloons to mark the occasion.
The residents gathered at the venue quite in good number to celebrate this special national event. Patriotic songs were played on the deck to set the tone and create the environment of celebrations. The celebrations started with hoisting and unfurling of the national flag. The National Anthem Jan Gan Man….. played on public address system rented the air while the tricolour flag fluttered smartly in air showering flower petals enhancing thrill in the ambience. Indian martyrs and freedom fighters were remembered and paid homage on this occasion who sacrificed their lives for the sake of our country. Sweets were distributed to the participating residents followed by tea with snacks.
Residents of the society, especially the children gave their high octane performances on patriotic poems, songs & dances which were well received and applauded by the audience. Prizes were distributed to all the participating children.
