We are delighted to share that the Independence Day Celebrations at our vibrant Colony were a resounding success spreading an overall effervescence. The event was graced by our esteemed Chief Guest, Bansuri Swaraj, MP, along with numerous dignitaries from the judiciary, bureaucracy, professional fields like medicine, accounting and the cricketing world.
The unveiling of the plaque to mark the inauguration of the Sports Complex including the Cricket Academy and the Pickleball Court was an exhilarating moment for all the residents.
The august gathering was blessed by the active contributory participation of Bansuri Swaraj, MP, Justice S.S. Saron, Madan Lal (International Cricketer), Padmashri Dr. (Prof) P.K. Julka and Dr. (Prof) Kaushal Verma (Dean AIIMS). In addition to these distinguished personalities, we were honored by the presence of Bimal Julka (IAS), Manjeev Singh Puri (IFS), P.N. Aggarwal (IPS), Jayant Advani several noted Indian cricketers as S/Sh Surinder Khanna, Sarandeep Singh, Raj Kumar Sharma, (Dronacharya Awardee) Parvinder Awana and Sunita Sharma (Dronacharya Awardee) Gursharan Singh etc.
The celebration began with the flag hoisting by Bansuri Swaraj, followed by the singing of the national anthem by all attendees. The lamp lighting ceremony was a unifying moment, participated by all dignitaries.
A special art competition, organized by Global Art, brought together more than 80 children from our colony. Each participant received certificate of merit and gifts with additional prizes awarded to the competition winners. The children’s cultural performances were a highlight, delighting our chief guest and earning them Certificates of Excellence.
The program saw enthusiastic attendance from all corners of the Colony. We would like to acknowledge the active participation of Harjit Kaur Bawa, Sushil Bagga, Shammi Talwar, Col. N.K. Malhotra, Seema Kandhari, Capt. Archna Arora, Col. Rajeev Sahni, Chander Prakash Sehdev, NK Bhasin, Satish Mittal, Devinder Singh, Rajesh Khurana, Inderjeet Singh, Usha Nabe, Sabharwal, Duggal, Dr Manpreet Bawa, Aanchal Aggarwal, Vaneet Ahuja, Priya, Swati, Pragya, Ravneet and others who warmly felicitated our Chief Guest and Guests of Honour. Special mention go to Residents from B, C, D, and E Blocks, including Advocate Vanshja Shukla, Sr Advocate Saurabh Mishra, Preeti Ahuja, CA Ravinder Ahuja, Col Sunil Chandra, Suvir Sharma, Anuj Bakshi, Varun Wadhwa, Akshar Bhan, Chinki Singh, Anjali Bakshi, Mandeep Singh, Monika Kapoor, Har Sharan Singh, and many more.
A notable moment was the inauguration of the Cricket Academy by our Chief Guest, Bansuri Swaraj, alongside Madan Lal, the cricket legend and other dignitaries.
Despite the blessings of Varun Devta (rain) during the event, the euphoria of our colony’s residents remained high throughout. Over 400 residents attended, and everyone enjoyed a delightful array of hot snacks and a sumptuous meal. The event lasted over five hours of which Bansuri Swaraj stayed with us for around two hours. It was thoroughly enjoyed by one and all. We, the entire team of the DCA A Block Association, extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to making this event a grand success.
