Inclusive education seeks to address the learning needs of all children, with a specific focus on those who are vulnerable to marginalization and exclusion.
In a transformative stride towards inclusive education, I, Divya Bhasin, a trained graduate teacher from PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Noida, recently enriched my skills at a groundbreaking workshop held at RIE Ajmer from February 1st to 5th, 2023, and organized by NCERT, the workshop delved into the realm of Equitable and Inclusive Education.
The workshop illuminated innovative methods for inclusive education, emphasizing the importance of tailored strategies to meet diverse learning needs. I,actively embraced these approaches, fostering an inclusive environment within the classroom.
A notable highlight of the workshop was the emphasis on sign language as a tool for inclusive communication. I, alongside fellow educators, delved into mastering sign language, recognizing its pivotal role in breaking communication barriers for students with hearing impairments.
The workshop extensively covered the integration of the 21 recognized disabilities into the educational landscape, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP).I emerged equipped with insights to address the diverse needs of students, ensuring that no one is left behind in the pursuit of knowledge.
Inspiring Visit to the special needs Students School at Ajmer:
An impactful aspect of the workshop included a visit to a special needs student’s school in Ajmer. I gained firsthand experience in understanding the challenges and triumphs of students with disabilities, reinforcing my commitment to create an inclusive educational space.
My participation in this transformative workshop not only signifies personal and professional growth but also mirrors the dedication of educators towards building a more inclusive and equitable educational landscape. The ripple effect of my learnings promises a brighter and more inclusive future for students in PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Noida.
The workshop aimed to equip teachers with tools and insights to address diverse learning needs, ensuring that education remains accessible to all students.
