The Twin Tower Demolition on 28 August 2022 is an unforgettable historical moment not only for the Residents of Supertech Emerald Court, in Sector 93A, but for entire Noida/NCR and the
country as well. The world too watched. Samvada covered the event. Within 10 months, the scene has completely changed!
Our editor, Sanjay Sarda, residing in Emerald Court reports from ground zero – With the blessings of the Almighty, support of all Agencies, excellent team work of Residents and cooperation of all nearby Societies, normalcy returned with minimum damage. Life resumed after the demolition. However, the main arterial road that was the approach to the basement and the Exit Gate was already destroyed causing great inconvenience to all Residents – especially those towers adjacent to the Twin Towers, as their main entrance from Lobby Level was blocked and they had to use the basement for entry/exit.
The removal of about 80,000 MT of debris was not an easy task and there were several hiccups in between, which caused the given deadlines to be overrun several times. To ensure that adequate manpower and machinery was deployed keeping the permissible noise levels in the acceptable range, required herculean efforts by the ECORWA – specially our respected President, U.B.S.Teotia.
Finally, the debris got removed and the reconstruction of Driveway started. After consistent persuasion and several meetings to highlight the urgency of timely reconstruction as the absence of the driveway was a safety hazard in case of any Fire Emergency, along with the continued inconvenience of all residents who had suffered silently for nearly 2 years, the driveway reconstruction of a 9 meter pathway got completed. It was decided to inaugurate it on Sunday, 11 June.
A large number of residents assembled to witness the Inauguration. It was decided to call the driveway – Vijay Path. With the chanting of Vedic Mantras and Prayers, the driveway was opened and symbolically the Society Golf Cart, which became the Vijay Rath, was the first vehicle to pass followed by cars of some Board Members and residents. The Vijay Path is now open and another chapter in the fight for justice has been concluded.
Now the construction of the boundary wall destroyed by the demolition and the conversion of the levelled post-demolition ground, into a beautiful green area, remains and the fight continues. Like they say – Picture abhi baki hai!!
