As we all know that working of MCD is in jeopardy due to several issues & the non-formation of standing committee, which is the most important body in MCD for taking all decisions. In spite of these constraints and non-availability of desired funds, Ms Rai got a few jobs done in GK 1 constituency, as per the requests of RWA’s. Some notable ones are:
1. Heavy pruning of trees in almost all the eight blocks of G.K.1.63 trees were pruned in S Block alone (A separate story was done in Dec. & Jan issue of Samvada).
2. Replacement of defective street lights in many blocks. A few lights yet to be replaced in S Block. Pending due to fund crunch.
3. Replacement of broken storm water drain covers.
4. Repair of walking track in S Block Park by putting Bajri/Badarpur. It has given some relief to the walkers for the time being. Ultimately some major solution has to be found to give relief for the next couple of years.
These kind of repair /maintenance works are of a continuous nature & have to be taken up time & again.
Relaying of back lanes, repair of Nalla wall, cleaning of storm water drain in S/B block, repairing of playing stations, gym equipment’s etc. are the other major works which are pending. We, as RWA are doing a constant follow up.
We hope that the slug fest between various factions in MCD would end soon, councilors shall get requisite funds & residents would get some relief.
