In Loving Memory of Radhika Abrol Phogat

A Young Life Gone too soon It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we bid farewell to Radhika Abrol Phogat, a vibrant and promising young soul, who, at the tender age of 33, was called to her heavenly abode on October 10. Her sudden departure has left our community in shock and disbelief, grappling with the cruel hand of destiny that has taken away a brilliant young woman with dreams of making a substantial impact on our society. Radhika’s journey into fame, power, and politics was as swift and unexpected as her untimely passing. In April 2017, she embarked on a political career by participating in the Municipal Elections, which she won, becoming the youngest councillor to represent our prestigious constituency. Her journey started as a product of St. Mary’s School, Safdarjung Enclave, where she consistently stood out as a top performer. She pursued her higher education at the esteemed Lady Shri Ram College and earned her M Phil from Delhi University. Her youth and impressive qualifications swiftly brought her into the limelight, making her a popular figure in the field of politics. During her time as a councillor, Radhika was deeply committed to causes close to her heart. She championed campaigns on waste management and creating a plastic-free society in collaboration with the Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD). Her ability to connect with the sanitary staff and her unwavering dedication led to her taking on numerous responsibilities, which she handled with utmost sincerity. After her term as a councillor, Radhika continued her active involvement in social work and dedicated her time to Municipal schools, where her passion for education shone brightly. Tragically, her battle with diabetes took a fatal turn, leading to her sudden demise. The news of her passing enveloped our entire community in a pall of sorrow, and the shock lingers even now, days after she left us. Radhika is survived by her loving husband, Ashish Phogat, and her young son, Radhaansh, who will carry the memory of their devoted mother with them throughout their lives. She is also mourned by her mother, Manju Abrol, her elder sister, and her younger brother, for whom the love of their life has departed forever. In this time of sorrow, we remember Radhika Abrol Phogat as a beacon of hope and inspiration in our community. She may be gone, but her legacy will continue to shine brightly, inspiring all of us to carry on her noble work. Rest in Peace, dear Radhika. You will be deeply missed by all of us, and your memory will forever live in our hearts.
