On this 26th January, the sun decided to stage a surprise intervention in the ongoing saga of winter gloom, and offered a burst of warm and bright sunshine. Republic Day celebration at Silver Oaks commenced with an air of patriotism as SOCA president Mr. Vineet Sharma, alongside other distinguished board members, unfurled the national flag, a symbol of unity and pride. The melodious rendition of the national anthem resonated through the air as all residents joined in harmony, fostering a sense of togetherness. The little stars of Silver Oaks stole the show with their mesmerising performances. What truly stood out was not just the exceptional talent displayed, but also the confidence and enthusiasm radiating from these young performers. A significant highlight of this year’s celebration was the Felicitation Ceremony, to recognise the remarkable achievements of our community stars. The exceptional achievements of kids who brought immense pride and honour to Silver Oaks at district, state, or national level, were honoured. Achievements of some residents were also applauded and honoured for their noteworthy accomplishments. This ceremony served as a platform to shine a spotlight on the diverse talents in Silver Oaks. A special Felicitation Ceremony was also held to recognise and express gratitude to those dedicated staff members who completed more than 15 / 20 years of service at Silver Oaks. Following the delightful celebration, a wonderful array of refreshments were served for all attendees.
In a significant stride towards enhancing community well-being, TILT shared bicycles were also inaugurated. This initiative allows the residents the joy of cycling without the need to purchase a bicycle individually. The event was filled with laughter and a sense of adventure as people took the opportunity to test ride the new bicycles.
For the very first time, this year’s Republic Day celebration also saw the commencement of Inter-House Sports Competition at Silver Oaks. The day followed with boundless energy and enthusiastic participation from residents of all age groups. Various races like freestyle race, lemon race, sack race were organised to cater to different age categories – kids, men, women, and senior residents. The cheers and encouragement from spectators added to the excitement. The classic tug of war and musical chair also saw enthusiastic participation from residents spanning across all age groups. The victorious participants not only received prizes but also earned valuable points for their respective houses, creating a sense of healthy competition and community spirit. ‘Decathlon’ also participated in the celebration, adding an extra layer of joy for the residents as they offered a setup of archery and mini golf for all to enjoy.
Such moments of shared enjoyment truly contribute to the warmth and unity within any community. Smiles and laughter painted the scene, and happiness filled the air as everyone celebrated the successful conclusion of India’s 75th Republic Day.
