Saving our planet is our responsibility, and it’s in our hands to keep and leave it neat and clean and livable for the next generations to come. A very beautiful step was taken by 3 Pathwaysians 8th graders Aaran Singh, Aviraj Singh and Yatharth Chaudhary, as they gave a detailed explanation and demonstrated how some discarded or unwanted items can be reused or upcycled and given a new look or new life, thereby reducing the amount of waste that goes to landfills.
These boys collected some trash and made lots of upcycled products. The items they reused were plastic bottles, which they turned into planters; polythene bags, which they cut and made flowers and strung them to make garlands; plastic carry-away boxes, which were turned into bird feeders; cardboard boxes, bags, old greeting cards, wedding cards, and envelopes, which were cut out and made to use in more decorative ways. These are small little measures, but if taken by every household, we can certainly minimise waste and bring a change.
