The pollution in North India, during winters, is becoming a mammoth problem, making the lives of people intolerable and creating hazards for any traffic activity. Many reasons can be quoted for this issue but what good would it bring since no one is going to take it upon themselves to reduce the pollution in any way possible? The misconception that Diwali crackers were creating havoc, was proved when AQI was 500 plus (hazardous) before Diwali and the next day of Diwali, it came down to 240! The construction sites create dust pollution, so the decree stated no construction until January, but who listens? The other day someone was complaining that marble cutting was going full throttle even after 8 pm in C block! How many tabs can one put? The farmers were told not to burn the stubble but were helped in no way as to avoid it.
If we all take our responsibility seriously and work for the general good, perhaps the situation will not arise. The climatic conditions were the same years ago, and the same practices were occurring but in limited amounts, we call ourselves educated so civil but then these occur. Exasperating!
We need to mend our ways or Mother Earth will teach us the harsher way!
