The park adjoining Vasant Vihar Club mostly remains insufficiently lit after sunset due to frequent failure of security lights installed in the park. Taking advantage of insufficient lighting, miscreants have started using the place for consumption of alcohol and possibly drugs also.
One of the residents has pointed out that while he was parking his car in front of the park, he noticed a gang of teenagers entering the park carrying a bottle of whiskey and few cans of beer. Few of them already appeared to be in inebriated state. He immediately informed the PCR, but no strong action seems to have been taken by them. The illegal activities are continuing.
Some strong measures need to be taken urgently to nip the illegal activities in the bud failing which the place may turn into launch pad for crimes in the colony.
