Home Grown Mango Saplings Gifted At Photography Exhibition

Act Now is the United Nations campaign for individual climate change and sustainability action. We can help limit global warming and take care of our planet. Keeping this in mind this year in my stand-alone spirit, I took up this project of propagating mango seeds into seedlings and gifting them away. I’m thankful to Roopali Saxena who gave 5 saplings, Nisha Wadhwa for giving 6 saplings, and Illa Jain with 2 saplings. On my small balcony, 5 saplings were ready for gifting. The joy was boundless that I could inspire my friends and collectively collected 21 saplings neatly potted for gifting purpose, to twenty creative individuals in a prestigious photography exhibition.

Asian Literary Society and photography forum organized a 2nd week-long photography exhibition at the Art Gallery of CSOI where 20 artists showcased their photographic skills, based on the theme of Nature, Urban life, and Asian culture. The inauguration was done on 1st September by Ms Meenakshi Natrajan (Former member of parliament) and Rohit Suri (guest of honor and founder of V-18 channel, from Green Park Extn).

Our chief guest Ms Meenakshi Natrajan and guest of honor Rohit Suri received the saplings most graciously. They also graced my saplings by gifting them to each member along with the certificates.

I was delighted to receive my sapling gift from their hands. I was also happy that my saplings would travel alongside their owners and be planted in different areas of Delhi & NCR. The participants included Manoj Krishnan, Anita Chand, Vandana Bhasin, Neeti Parti, Manisha Amol, Deepti Srivastava, Dr. Minal, Vikhyat Bhasin, Shivpriya, Dr. Saswati Das, Chhaya Bali, Rajesh Kumar Paswan, Nisha Wadhwa, Ritesh Kishore, Priyanka Kumari, Vikas Patel, Nitin, Ankit Shukla and Jahida Seikhand myself.

Asian Literary Society (ALS) promotes Asian literature, art, and indigenous languages worldwide and its Photography community, ALS Photography Forum provides a vibrant and engaging platform for photographers of all levels to showcase their talent. The gallery held a spectacular aura around with wide range of framed photographs displayed on the walls.

I came home delighted that my seedlings were now in safe hands and would grow well in times to come- also a little thoughtful about planning for the next event of gifting the saplings again. I am fully convinced that the universe would direct me to the next path for sure.
