“Holika Dahan” was celebrated after three-year gap with great religious fervor. These traditional festivals keep our religious beliefs with some historical and geographical facts in place.
The dedicated and highly artistic cultural committee team of S Block welfare Society, decorated the Holy Pyre ‘Holika’ in various shades of colours with Rangoli colors and flower petals and garlands.
Ladies of the block attired in traditional dresses trouped in early morning with their daughter in laws and grandchildren to worship the holy pyre with various offerings, to pray for the long and healthy life of their dear ones.
Come evening and after conducting pooja by our local Shiv Mandir Chief Pandit Ji and his assistants, the pyre was lit with the chanting of “mantras” by our Councilor Shikha Ji, along with many senior residents. She was the Chief guest for this evening.
Before that, she along with the President of SBWS, wished a Happy Holi to more than 250 residents who were present. The residents were happy to note that Ms. Rai arrived exact on dot at 7 pm without keeping any one waiting.
It was a reunion of residents after almost three years on this pious occasion. Many residents, who have moved in, in our block in the past three years joined in and praised SBWS for organizing such a massive function.
Prasad of “Guldana & Namak Paras” packed beautifully in packets was distributed.
Many residents were seen roasting the new crops of green grams & enjoying them.
