Under the guidance of “pujari” Sanjay Shastri ji, the evening of “Holika Dehen” took place on March 24 outside the Sankat Mochan Hanuman mandir with complete religious solemnity. Over fifty residents participated. Following the puja, “Parikrama” was done, and the fire was started. The practice of roasting wheat earrings over a fire was practiced by many people. There was also a Bhandaraa during the day.
Next Day, at Central Park, A-Block Extension, PRWS, and the Power Backup groups organized Holi celebrations, just as they had for many years prior.
This time though it was little ‘feeka’ as it was only a dry Holi with flowers & herbal ‘Gulaal’ and so hardly any children’s participation. The residents turned up in large numbers to wish happy Holi to each other. They all enjoyed the music & dance ‘masti’ over sumptuous Gol Gappa Papri chaat, Amritsari Kulchha–Chhole, Pao-Bhaji, Kulfi, .. among many others.
