The colourful Holi festival is the most awaited in Crescent. Holi eve was marked by the traditional and ritualistic Holika dahan in the central park. On the day of Holi, as the sun rose, the fun and frolic multiplied every moment. The day started with the huge audio system grooving “O rang barse”, “Holi ke din dil”, “Holi khele raghuvira awadh mein” and on and on and on.
This year’s Holi came with a little chill. As residents started coming out with colours on hand and faces and cloths, with intoxicating giggles and mischievous smiles spreading like colourful Gulals, the euphoria enveloped the entire society, engulfing everyone in its happiness and merriment. Excited children ran all along with huge Holi guns, ready to shower coloured water on anyone who passed through, and adults were seen smearing abir and water colours on each other.
The exuberance continued till afternoon with everyone dancing to Bollywood numbers near community hall. This was followed by delicious and magnificent lunch. As always, the festival of colours came with loads of enjoyment and left with memories to be cherished.
