Holi K Rang Hasya K Sang – ‘Holi Milan’ Celebration By WTSS

‘Holi Milan’, a traditional event organized by Wish Town Sanskriti Samiti (WTSS), epitomizes the
essence of jubilation and  cultural vibrancy.

The origins of Holi Milan can be traced back to ancient Hindu mythology, where it is believed to symbolize Lord Krishna and Radha’s meeting, the epitome of devotion. Music and dance form an integral part of this celebration.

The celebration, organized on the evening of Sunday, 24 March at Club 3 ground, was tastefully designed with the traditional folk tunes blending seamlessly with modern beats. The renowned poets’ humorous poetry created an electric atmosphere that was impossible to resist.

As the Sun set, laughter echoes lingered in the air, a testament to the brotherhood joined together to celebrate the occasion. The program commenced with a Ganesh Vandana presentation by Dr. Anu Sinha and group.

This was followed by a classical singing rendition by renowned vocalist Kankana Banerjee, and many more musical presentations on Holi by artists.

‘Radha-Krishna’s Holi’ by Anshika Bhadauria and group was a mesmerizing moment. The audience erupted into applause, moved by the spectacle they witnessed. It was a musical portrayal of Lord Krishna’s life, focusing on his playful interactions with the Gopis during Holi.

Through emotive expressions & intricate footwork, the dancers depicted the romance between Radha and Krishna, symbolizing the eternal love bond.

Other musical programs included a Kathak presentation based on Ragas by Govind, Ami, Sagar, Hiradev, Ankit, a presentation by Kumari Brijesh and group, Monica Sharma and group’s presentation of Holiya, Diksha and group, Daksh and group’s presentation, Dr. Anu Sinha and group’s presentation of Rang Dhaungyi, and Rajesh Pandey’s Kajari, Chaiti, and presentations of Holi songs.

The Holi Milan spirit continued to shine bright, illuminating hearts with its camaraderie & love messages as the evening progressed. The guests were welcomed by Chandan tikka and served with Kachodi sabzi & mouthwatering Gujias.

‘Hasya Kavi Sammelan’, humorous poetry, was the cherished part of the cultural manifestation. The humourist poets spread laughter by reciting their compositions. Notable names include Deepak Gupta, Madhu Mohini Upadhyay, Vinod Pandey, Deepali Jain, Piyush Malviya, Mamta Varshney, and Dinesh Kapoor.

As the evening concluded, friends & family members cherished the celebration of life and moments of togetherness. It was more than a celebration; it was a testament to the rich tapestry of Indian culture.
