Holi, the festival of colors, is celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy across India. This year, the festival was celebrated in three distinct ways in our condominium, Eldeco Utopia.
The celebration started with Phoolon ki Holi, also known as the flower Holi, celebrated on 23 March at Radha Krishna Temple of Utopia. Beautifully decorated with vibrant flowers and petals, the event was a visual treat for all. People dressed in traditional attire gathered at the temple area to enjoy the festivities.
Residents immensely enjoyed the raslila performance by the artists from Vrindavan and also shook a leg along. The air was filled with the fragrance of roses, marigolds and jasmine as participants smeared each other with flower petals. The soft, gentle colors of the flowers added a peaceful and joyous vibe to the celebration.
The next day, 24 March, residents came together to celebrate Holika Dahan – a ritual that symbolizes the victory of good over evil. A bonfire was lit outside the club house area, and everyone gathered around to pray and seek blessings for the coming year. The burning of the effigy of Holika reminded everyone of the triumph of righteousness and the eventual downfall of evil.
Finally, the most awaited part of the festival arrived – Playing Holi with colors. All residents were armed with powdered colors and gulal, and children with water guns and balloons. Laughter, music and the sounds of joy filled the air as everyone embraced the spirit of the festival. The vibrant colors in the air created a kaleidoscope of hues, painting the community in a joyful riot of bonhomie.
As the day came to an end, everyone came together to share sweets, hugs, and well-wishes, marking the end of another beautiful Holi celebration. The festival left behind a trail of memories and laughter that will be cherished for years to come.
Overall, the 3-day celebration brought the community closer, spreading happiness and love among all its members. It was a reminder of the importance of coming together to celebrate life, joy, and the victory of good over evil.
