Similarly, Holi was celebrated on 8 March enthusiastically with traditional fervour and customary revelry at Vasant Kunj Sector A Pocket C with a feeling of community togetherness and bonding.
Elders, youth, children-and all gathered at the ARWA office and wished and greeted each other with cheerful abandon-with hugs, handshakes along with the colours of joy. There was cheer all around and the flavours of the festive celebrations were enhanced by the Herbal Gulal, Haldi Chandan and organic Gujiyas and Jal Jeera soft drinks and Tea. Rangon Ki Barsaat In D-3/4: Looking back at the festival of colours one noticed that summer set in early this year. It was 7 Mar and Holika Dahan attracted a large crowd and the spirits were high. The flames went up and people remembered how legendary Prahlad was saved to the utter dismay of Hrinyakashyap, the demon king. As always, it was IP Bansal, a prominent resident, who lit the fire and performed Puja!
The much-awaited morning of 8 Mar saw the RWA team at hand to welcome the revellers who came for Holi Milan! Loads of Gujiya, colours and the foot thumping music from the DJ marked the occasion!
People kept coming in small and large groups. It was quite a sight to watch the seniors shaking a leg or two! Some children were seen barging in with water guns turning it into a wet Holi as a part of free-for- all!
People enjoyed the subsidised lunch that followed. Residents turned up with families. It was amazing how some die-hard calorie watchers followed their heart and did justice to the food!
All in all, it was an enjoyable festival! But some people were heard complaining why the festival comes only once a year! Contributed by Rakesh Dewan (D-3/3124, 8810244978)
