Gradual adoption of centuries old tradition of our cultural tradition, duly initiated by Shri Krishan and followed by Mathura Vrindaban devotees with a healthy adaptional change of Community participation was an innovatinal change in The Forest Society, Sector-92, in which ladies from other societies also participated to celebrate ‘Phoolon ki Holi’ (Holi of Flowers) in the society lawns.
It was further celebrated by the ladies of the society with a full-capacity gathering in a lounge. It was an event of musical songs, energetic dances and fun games. The event was not only traditional in its celebration but also had deep roots of community bonding – instead of calling some caterer, which is the normal practice on such occasions – all the ladies participated with most delicious food items for all. It was a celestial environment with a pinch of feast as well.
Resident Welfare Association was not lacking behind to carry on the spirit of enthusiasm by organising on 7 March ‘Holika Dahan and Victory of Prahlad’s Faith in God’, son of a king consumed in pride. This is an interesting historical story and should be read by all of us in general and children in particular, now in comics. It is an event of when many auspicious and organic items are included, in the pile that is lit, to create peace, positivity and prosperity to overcome evil deeds and negativity. Holika Dahan is solemnised a day before, previous evening, of the main Holi day.
On 8 March, our RWA sponsored a very colourful, eventful and enjoyable programme of Rain Dance. It was thoroughly enjoyed and turned out to be to ‘stop when you drop’ while playing colours to convert each other into unrecognizable multi-coloured monkey faces.
Finally a sumptuous mouth-watering lunch was organized to make Holi 2023 an unforgettable event for residents to wait and look forward to such a pack of enjoyment next year!
