The management committee and Crescent Cultural Committee again proved their mettle in celebrating Falgun Purnima festival of Holi on 25 March. The festivities started with Holika Dahan a night prior, for which a bonfire was prepared at the central park. The little shower during the day didn’t dampen either the bonfire or the spirits of Crescentarians, who lit the sacred firewood at night. The lightening of Holi is a symbolic of victory of good over evil. The day of Holi saw a nice weather, with kids running all around the park area, with colors and pichkaris, buckets full of water and hands full of gulal and holicolours. The adults wished holi to each other by applying colors on each other. Snacks of various pakoras and thandai awaited all at the badminton court area, where residents savored and celebrated the festival. What is Holi without the Bollywood numbers and dances! Holi songs along with party songs kept the spirits high as people continued dancing till afternoon. Lunch was also organized at the badminton court grounds with mouthwatering feast for all.
