Indeed, our country of vivid life styles and the way we celebrate festivals compel people from far off places to return to their homes to celebrate Holi with their friends and family mem-bers every year. All big railway stations ie Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata were over loaded with traffic bound to Bihar and UP and other Holi Festival celebrating states. Trains were packed with passengers like chillies in gunny bags of the vegetable market.
It was reported that many people even with advance bookings could not catch the train due to mad rush.
Here in NFC celebrations started even before the day of colourful Holi. VarikshaRopan Samiti organized it one day before Holi at Sheesham Park, it was Holi Dehan day, members participated and played with organic dry colours and only tea party was organised. Tilak was put on some trees and Panditji tied Rakshasutra on members as well as on the trees.
In C Block NFC Park, Dhiraj Jain organized Holi on a large scale. A Raas Leela party of Mathura in traditional dresses of Krishan and Sakhis played Holi with locals. They sang various Holi related melodious songs. A good gathering of blocks with no age bar participated in the show.
Food stalls with high quality stuff was served and people enjoyed every bit of it.
At C Block Friends Colony central park, the C Block Friends Colony RWA organized a party at a very low key.
This year it was surprising that dholwalas, tollies of ho & go getters were not visible in different parts of the colony though colours were visible here and there.
The residents claimed that they played Holi with full discipline and because of that no quarrel or fight was reported.
