On 13 Mar the High Commission of Rwanda organized tree plantation programme at MCD Primary School with MCD.
The High Commissioners of about fifteen countries planted different plants in the school premises, the Councillor, Dy Commissioner of MCD with RWA of D Block, VarikshaRopan Samiti and local residents planted saplings. The Malis and other staff helped.
The welcome geet was sung by school staff. It was rather a warm morning and some foreigners were sweating. Later High commissioners met the school children. It was strange that school children were not made part of the plantation event, they were in their classes. How new generation will understand the importance of trees and plants when they are kept away, is a question?
The Commissioner of Rwanda with Slogan of Save The Planet, praised the event and she also asked the audience to visit her Country.
The local Councillor and Dy Commissioner also spoke very highly about selecting the school of his area for such an excellent event with Commonwealth of fifty countries.
