As a resident of the society, I wish to draw attention to the growing concerns just outside the gates of Srishti society, alongside the interior arena of service road — a situation that not only hampers daily life but also poses serious health, environment, and safety risks.
The first and most pressing issue is the uncontrolled accumulation of garbage along the roadside. Heaps of garbage is seen collected both horizontally and vertically. Despite being a residential area, heaps of wastes are regularly dumped by passersby and certain irresponsible individuals, uncivilized vehicle owners, and drivers. As a result, the dumping ground has become breeding site for mosquitoes and other insects. This has led to an overall decline in local hygiene status, quality, and standards. This environment is especially hazardous for children, senior citizens, and anyone commuting through the area.
There is an urgent need for the local authorities to install public dustbins, enforce anti-littering regulations, and ensure regular waste collection. There is an emergency need to prohibit public from dumping wastes on road.
The second issue relates to the congestion that the people create while availing the services of footpath vendors and sellers. The tendency of most people is to park vehicles on the road taking up most of the space, which creates obstacle to other passing vehicles, or to the vehicles that exit from the society and have to take a turn. Owing to this the traffic slows down.
The remedy of this could be educating the literate people about the civic sense and proper parking rules. It is our request to the municipal corporation to take action on both fronts. Clean, safe, and accessible public spaces are the right of every citizen.
