On 17 December, a mobile Cancer Screening Camp was organised by a club at AGV-1 club house for residents of age 35 years and above. The camp started at 10.30 a.m and continued till 12.30 noon.
There was a wide range of screening processes like, chest X-ray, digital blood profile; oral examination, comprehensive gynecological examination of cervix (Pap test), breast examination, and complete male check-up by a physician.
The camp proved to be of great value to the residents, particularly for women and elderly persons. Several residents underwent various screening tests and very nominal fees were charged for these tests.
Doctors explained the benefits of cancer screening tests and urged residents to undertake the same. Such mobile ‘Cancer Screening Camp’ having a concept of “Doctors at Doorstep” is a welcome step for the welfare of residents and should be organised frequently.
