As part of the Clean Noida Programme, HCL Foundation, in collaboration with RWA and SDF RWS, conducted a workshop for Rajnigandha Market Complex shopkeepers and residents on Dec 15, 2023. The session focused on raising awareness about the reduction of single-use plastic, emphasizing the use of cloth bags. The program included an introduction, orientation on solid waste management, discussions on creating a plastic-free market, and concluded with refreshments and the distribution of cloth bags to all attendees. RWA secretary Rajesh Khanna and SDF president Anupma Bhardwaj were also there to encourage the shopkeeper to avoid plastic bags. Plastic waste management rules 2016 has following banned items: Plastic carry bag, Plastic cutlery, Plastic cup and plastic plate, Plastic sticks of ice creams, Plastic straws etc.. RWA agreed to send message to residents to carry their own cloth bag and say no to poly bags.
