In continuity to Independence Day celebration in The Forest Society ladies carried forward mood & momentum in the society by celebrating the Shrawan Special on August 19, in Corbett Lounge of the Society.
The mood was in the famous tone and tune of “Come September” mood with vibrating dances, heart touching poetry, mind tingling quiz & most melodious songs.
The festival has special importance as per mythological beliefs and a deep rooted long history of centuries behind the background of the function. As per religious scriptures it is the day when the Prayers of cosmos heard & Shakti Shiv accepted each other as husband & wife. Ladies in particular get up early morning in a real cheerful mood, take bath & many of them keep fast to pray for a happy, healthy, prosperous & peaceful married life. Even unmarried girls keep fast to get a good husband. All of them decorate their hands & feet in a very artistic design of mehndi i.e. vermilone, multicolour bangles & very attractive clothes. The function is solemnized in many states in different styles of their traditions of these most colourful magical moments. Uttar Pradesh, Punjab & Rajasthan are the leading states to whole heartedly infuse most rythymic moods. . In many areas swings, giddha, folk songs/ dances leads to sky high enjoyment!
As a matter of fact for this appreciation comes from expected improvement in a sizzling hot summer, better crops by rains & ultimate financial comfort for agricultural class & over all comfort for one & all. Such psychology sets the cheerful mood for dance & many other activities & atmosphere continues as a creation of a vibrant spirits in any village, city state. Samvada congratulates the residents of The Forest Society to keep the spirits high for all times to come!
