Hariyali Teej is a vibrant festival celebrated with great enthusiasm, particularly by married and unmarried women in Northern India. Falling during the monsoon season, it marks the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The festival is an expression of devotion, love, and the joy of monsoon. Women across DLF Phase 2 adorned themselves with ‘Solah Shringaar’ applied mehendi on their hands, and dressed in beautiful green attire to symbolize prosperity and happiness.
Mrs Rama Rani Rathee organised Teej celebration that include swings, singing traditional songs, and dancing. This community event also included food, entertainment, festivities, and even a free plant distribution.
The festival of Teej is a reminder of cultural heritage and the importance of community bonds. It’s a day to come together, celebrate with family and friends, and cherish the joys of life.
Few women of Phase 2 organised their own Teej celebration at a resident’s house in L block.
Sarita ji opened her doors to the members of pagalpanti group to celebrate Teej and Sapna Sehrawat made all the arrangements. The festive decor and yummy food kept the fun spirit alive. The ladies danced and did a ramp walk in their decked up attires to compete to win gifts sponsored by the a few women entrepreneurs of phase 2.
